LEXINGTON — Kentucky Basketball commit Skal Labissiere is the No. 1 rated player in the nation for 2015 and the current favorite to go No. 1 overall in the 2016 NBA Draft.

But despite the accolades, the 6-10 Haitian sensation is still an incoming freshman, and the reigning No. 1 pick from the 2015 draft — Karl-Anthony Towns — made sure he didn’t forget it during a competitive all-Kentucky scrimmage on Friday.

Several former UK players, including Towns and Andrew Harrison, were in town last week to attend John Calipari’s annual ProCamp basketball camp and spent free time playing pickup against a group of current Wildcats.

The marquee matchup was between Towns and Labissiere, and Calipari jokingly told media members on Saturday that Skal “beat up on Karl” during their game.

Towns chuckled in response, shook his head, and replied, “[Labissiere] showed some great glimpses, but there’s a reason I’m a pro [laughs].”

“There’s a reason I’m a pro and he’s a rook.”
