Julius Randle's mom keeps him focused

As the Cats prepare to face off against the Wisconsin Badgers, the last remaining top NBA Draft pick in the final four says his mom is keeping him focused on what matters most, enjoying this time. Nineteen-year-old power forward Julius Randle says he does think about the struggles his mom faced as a single mother going to work each day.

But Randle says he can’t dwell on that too much and his mom actually helps keep him focused on the here and now.

Randle’s mom had to leave around halftime during UK’s game against Michigan. She had to fly back to Texas so she could get to work the next day. Randle said he knew she’d have to go early and that made him want to win that much more so he could get to his home city and his mom could see him play again.
