JUCO All-American Mychal Mulder commits to Kentucky

Four-star JUCO prospect Mychal Mulder publicly announced his commitment to the University of Kentucky on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-4 All-American guard averaged 15.7 points and 6.4 rebounds as a sophomore at Vincennes University last season while shooting over 46% from three-point range.
Mulder is the first recruit to commit to the Wildcats since the end of last season.
Despite not being a top-ranked player, the signing is still an important one for John Calipari to help turn the tide of recent big recruits spurning the Wildcats.
Kentucky has missed on five-star players Cheick Diallo (Kansas), Brandon Ingram (Duke), Malik Newman (Mississippi State), and Stephen Zimmerman (UNLV) in the 2015 class while seeking replacements for its top seven scores from the 2014-2015 season who left school early together to declare for the NBA Draft.
But alas, all hope is not lost.
UK remains in the hunt for the services of Class of 2015 stars Jaylen Brown and Thon Maker, with Maker reportedly leaning towards playing in Lexington. Top-15 prospects Skal Labissiere (2) and Isaiah Briscoe (13) have also both already committed to Kentucky’s 2015 class.
The cupboard also wasn’t left bear in Lexington, either.
The Wildcats returns key players Alex Poythress, Marcus Lee, and Tyler Ulis among others and will a put a team on the court with more upperclassmen than UK has had in recent memory.
