Jordan Jones Named to The Butkus Award Watch List

Junior linebacker Jordan Jones continues to rack up preseason accolades. He has been named to The Butkus Award Preseason Watch List, it was announced Monday morning. The award is given out annually to the nation’s top linebacker.

Jones led Kentucky in tackles last season (109). The Youngstown, Ohio native also led the SEC and was 16th in the country in solo tackles per game last season. He is receiving a lot of preseason recognition. Jones has already been named preseason third team All-America by Athlon and preseason first-team All-SEC by Athlon Sports and Southern Pigskin. He is also on the preseason watch list for the Bronko Nagurski Award, which recognizes the top defensive player in college football.
