Junior linebacker Jordan Jones has been named to the 2017 Bronko Nagurski Trophy preseason watch list. The award is given annually to the National Defensive Player of the Year by the Charlotte Touchdown Club and the Football Writers Association of America.

Jones led Kentucky in tackles last season (109). The Youngstown, Ohio native also led the SEC and was 16th in the country in solo tackles per game last season. Jones has earned numerous honors this summer, being named preseason third team All-America by Athlon and preseason first-team All-SEC by Athlon Sports and Southern Pigskin.

The five finalists for the Bronko Nagurski award will be announced on November 16. The trophy winner will be selected by the FWAA All-America Committee after the All-America teams are announced. The Bronko Nagurski Trophy Banquet will be on December 4 in Charlotte.
