Joker Phillips on Mississippi State

UK head football coach Joker Phillips says that even though Mississippi State’s SEC record is 0-4, the Bulldogs present a huge challenge for his team. The Cats host Mississippi State at Commonwealth Stadium this Saturday. Phillips is praising his team’s defense, who he says showed what it can do against Jacksonville State because it wasn’t on the field all the time.

Phillips also said the team’s running game against Jacksonville State was key to their victory, and he hopes to see a repeat performance against Mississippi State this weekend. The Cats ran for a season-high 340 yards.

And Phillips says he expects great thingd from junior CoShik Williams, who rushed for a career-high 148 yards on 22 carries against Jacksonville State.

If Kentucky wins on Saturday, the Wildcats then only have to split their final four regular season games to go bowling. Those final four games are against Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Georgia and Tennessee.
