Former Kentucky big man Isaac Humphries is returning to his hometown of Sydney, Australia. Humphries has signed a one-year deal with the Sydney Kings worth an undisclosed amount.

According to the initial report from Fox Sports Australia, the Kings had been working hard to get Humphries for the last seven months.

Humphries’ agent, Daniel Moldovan, talked with Fox Sports Australia about his client’s decision.

“The opportunity to play alongside three Boomers in Brad Newley, Kevin Lisch, and Jason Cadee, as well as be coached by Andrew Gaze seemed like the perfect first stop for him,” said Moldovan. “He has very lofty goals. He is only 19 years of age but is already so skilled. Every NBL team has a high level 7-footer on its team so it’s going to be a great challenge every night and I’m sure many NBA clubs are going to be following him very closely.”

Humphries played two seasons at Kentucky. He averaged 2.8 points and 2.8 rebounds per game as a sophomore. After going undrafted last month, the Washington Wizards signed him to play in the Las Vegas Summer League. However, Humphries was released the day before the first game.
