CHICAGO — Willie Cauley-Stein is one of four Wildcats who are projected lottery picks for the upcoming NBA Draft, but could he eventually become a $100 million player?

NBA legend Larry Bird seems to think so.

According to Cauley-Stein, he interviewed for the Hall of Famer and current president of the Indiana Pacers at the NBA Combine in Chicago last week, where Bird told him, “I think you’re a $100 million player.“

Currently, Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat is the only player in the NBA with a guaranteed contract of over $100 million.

The First Team All-American said the complimentary comment even caught him by surprise, adding that the Pacers said they him as an uptempo center who could play small ball alongside Paul George at power forward.

The Pacers currently own the 11th selection in June’s NBA Draft with a 0.7% chance of landing the top pick, so Willie will likely already be long-gone by the time Indiana finally gets on the clock.

KSTV discussed Cauley-Stein’s potential in the pros and the money he could command after his rookie contract.
