Is Ryan Timmons ready to be a leader?

LEXINGTON — The popular question around campus is who will be Kentucky’s starting quarterback in the fall.
But regardless of whether it be Patrick Towles or Drew Barker, UK will still need to figure out to whom its signal caller will be throwing the ball.
At just 231 yards per game, the Wildcats ranked a mediocre 75th in the nation last season in team receiving yards. With an uptick in passing attempts expected for 2015, someone(s) will need to develop into a reliable downfield threat for Shannon Dawson’s new air raid attack to work.
Could Ryan Timmons be the solution?
Despite occasional lapses in ball security, the explosive slot receiver led the Wildcats in both catches (45) and receiving yards (536) during his sophomore campaign and will likely be Kentucky’s go-to target in 2015.
Joining him will be Darryl Long and incoming freshman CJ Conrad, a young tight end duo that will bring a level of talent to the position that UK hasn’t seen in years.
KSTV will discuss the potential breakout players at both positions on Wednesday’s show, explaining why Big Blue Nation should be except to watch an explosive offense on the field this fall.
