When it was announced that Willie Cauley-Stein wouldn’t be able to play in the UK basketball team’s exhibition trip to the Bahamas, it was seen as a major opportunity for the newcomers. One of the incoming freshman who would’ve likely benefited the most will now be watching from the sideline as well.

Trey Lyles, an five-star power forward, will not play in the six games. According to head coach John Calipari, Lyles is recovering from a procedure done on his left leg. The extent or nature of the injury wasn’t released, but he is expected to be ready for the start of practice in October.
