Harrison heroics send UK to the championship game

It was déjà vu, but this time it was on an even bigger stage as Aaron Harrison clinched a championship game berth for Kentucky. With 5.4 seconds remaining and the Cats down 2, the freshman guard pulled up for the go-ahead three and drilled it, sealing a 74-73 win for UL.
As they have throughout the NCAA Tournament, the young Cats fell behind early and trailed by as many as 9 points. An early second-half surge, capped off by a 15-0 run, would swing momentum back to UK. Wisconsin wouldn’t go away though, and the teams would go back and forth. As the Badgers shot at the final buzzer missed, Big Blue Nation collectively breathed a sigh of relief.
James Young led the Cats with 17 points. And while he only snatched five rebounds, Julius Randle wasn’t far behind as he scored 16. The only other UK player in double-figures was Dakari Johnson, who had 10.
With the win, Kentucky looks to finish off an improbable run by cutting down the nets Monday night in the national championship game. One team stands in the way of the Cats’ ninth national championship, and that is the seven-seed Connecticut Huskies. Tipoff is scheduled for 9:10 p.m..
