Freshmen primed to help UK regain its SEC crown

Earlier today, the Southeastern Conference honored four Kentucky Wildcats on its 2015 All-Freshmen team, tying UK’s previous record for most members selected from one team in a season.

It’s no secret that Devin Booker, Trey Lyles, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Tyler Ulis are all really, really good. They also don’t shy away from the spotlight with each one playing a pivotal role in Kentucky’s perfect 31-0 regular season. But if the Cats want to remain undefeated, they will will need to win three games in three nights at the SEC Tournament in Nashville, Tennessee, this weekend — a feat UK has not accomplished since 2011.

With UK’s first SEC Tournament game slated for Friday against the Florida/Alabama winner, our KSTV crew explains why this year’s fab freshmen are primed to help UK regain the conference crown this time around.
