With De’Aaron Fox, Malik Monk and Isaiah Briscoe headed to the NBA, John Calipari had a lot of room in his backcourt for next season and the UK coach has added one more player to the mix.

Four-star shooting guard Jemarl Baker committed to Kentucky this afternoon, joining a group of guards that will be made up of fellow freshmen Quade Green, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Hamidou Diallo. Baker was originally signed with California and head coach Cuonzo Martin, but was granted a release following Martin’s departure to Missouri. Baker is a rated as the 19th-best shooting guard in the country and as the 65th-best overall player by ESPN.

This is what Evan Daniels of Scout.com said about his commitment.
