Former Wildcat Arrested For Felony Theft

Former UK basketball player Jules Camara was arrested by Lexington police Thursday and charged with Theft By Unlawfal Taking, a felony, and possession of drug paraphanelia.

Camara, who played for UK from 1998-2000 and 2001-2002, had a warrant out for his arrest regarding a borrowed gun that the owner said he refused to return. During his arrest for on that charge, police found a crack pipe in his coat pocket and added the additional drug charge.

This is not the first brush with the law for the former UK center. Camara was suspended for the 2000-01 season while at UK after violating the school’s alcohol policy. Camara pleaded guitly to a DUI in 2010, as well as reckless driving and open container charges in 2008. After the 2010 arrest, Camara faced deportation to his native Senegal.
