LEXINGTON — Canadian talent Jamal Murray said this week that he wants to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, but he first needs to decide where and when he’s going to play college ball.
The five-star shooting guard from Ontario is currently a member of Class of 2016, but he has implied on multiple occasions that he could reclassify for 2015 and play as soon as this fall, too.
Despite landing No.1 ranked player Skal Labissiere and another top-3 recruiting class overall, Kentucky head coach John Calipari has unexpectedly missed on numerous other big-name targets this spring, but he’s making a late push for Murray, including an official visit to Lexington last week.
After his visit, Murray decided to further open his recruitment to a list of big-brand schools and appears to be in no rush to make a decision.
