Fact or Fiction: Rick Pitino is better at NBA preps than Coach Cal

ESPN recently put out a list of the college basketball coaches who are best at preparing players for the NBA, and the list was somewhat surprising.

Florida’s Billy Donovan took the top spot, which was curious because the Gators haven’t been churning out elite talent in recent years aside from Bradley Beal.

With the Cats’ recent success in the draft and the fact that at least nine former Memphis players made it to the NBA, Coach Cal was presumed to be towards the top, but it took till number nine before John Calipari’s name popped up.

Right in front of him, Louisville’s Rick Pitino took the eighth spot. Is Coach Pitino better at getting players ready for the NBA? We didn’t think that was the case, so it sparked our latest edition of Fact or Fiction.
