Expectations are high for Bam Adebayo in Miami

Bam Adebayo being drafted 14th overall by the Miami Heat was one of the biggest surprises during last week’s NBA draft. The former Kentucky big man, who was not in the first round of most mock drafts two months ago, rose up draft boards because of his impressive workouts in the weeks leading up to the draft.

Heat president Pat Riley calls Adebayo a “perfect fit” with Miami. Head coach Erik Spoelstra echoed that statement:

“We are really excited about Bam joining our organization,” said Spoelstra during Bam’s introductory press conference. “We do think it’s a great fit. So much of this league is about finding the kind of basketball players that fit your culture, fit your style of play, fit your work ethic — all of these things and Bam checked so many boxes.”

TJ Beisner and Bradley McKee discuss expectations for Bam Adebayo as starts preparing for his rookie season.
