Drew Barker Pushes Conner H.S. to a Win

10/04/2013 07:06 PM

Conner High School QB Drew Barker led his team to a 26-21 win over rival Cooper High School on Thursday.

The game came to a head near the end of the fourth quarter when Barker completed a 62-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Romney, giving the Cougars the lead. Then, Conner’s Andrew Way sealed the deal with an interception in the end zone with just seconds left. In addition to being the first district win for the Cougars, Barker says the win is especially significant given the history of the two teams.

The Cougars are now 4-2 overall. Barker says that even though they came out on top against Cooper, they must keep that momentum going if they want to nab the state title.
