Dominique Hawkins hoping to finish Kentucky career strong

Senior guard Dominique Hawkins has always taken a backseat to Kentucky’s continuous influx of five-star, one-and-done guards. This year is no different. Hawkins is behind De’Aaron Fox, Malik Monk and Isaiah Briscoe in the rotation, but he has actually seen his production increase from last year.
Hawkins has doubled his minutes per game (18.0) from last season (9.6). He’s averaging 3.6 points and 2.9 assists per game and has been extremely efficient when on the court this season—dishing out 26 assists and committing only three turnovers. That’s almost a 9:1 assist to turnover ratio.
Assistant coach Joel Justus met with the media today and talked about Hawkins’ value to the team.
“He has a great sense of self about what he brings to our team and is confident in who he is.” said Justus. “He makes us better. Everyone can see what he does.”
