Dominique Hawkins Commits To Kentucky

The Madison Central guard who led his team to a state championship at Rupp Arena will be playing on that same court in college next year. Dominique Hawkins committed to Kentucky this morning after weeks of speculation over a scholarship offer.

The 6’0” guard was not highly regarded by recruiting services, which ranked him as a three-star prospect, but he along with Bullitt East’s Derek Willis will add a home-grown Kentucky flavor to John Calipari’s incoming recruiting class, which includes six All-Americans.

So just to keep next year’s roster straight. Kentucky’s freshmen will be Aaron and Andrew Harrison, James Young, Dakari Johnson, Marcus Lee, Julius Randle, Derek Willis, and Dominique Hawkins. Returning for the Cats will be Willie Cauley-Stein, Alex Poythress, and Kyle Wiltjer. Still up the air is Andrew Wiggins and the status of Jarrod Polson’s and Jon Hood’s scholarships.
