Kentucky freshman point guard De’Aaron Fox has been named to the Bob Cousy Award preseason watch list. The Cousy Award is presented to the nation’s best point guard at the end of the season.

Tyler Ulis became the first Wildcat ever to win the award after a strong sophomore campaign in 2015-2016.

Fox is one of 20 candidates on the preseason watch list. The list will be narrowed to 10 in mid-February and five finalists will be announced in March. The winner will be announced on April 7 at the ESPN College Basketball Awards Show in Los Angeles.

Fox was a Naismith High School Player of the Year finalist last season while at Cypress Lakes High School in Katy, Texas. He was the number six player in the class of 2016 according to ESPN, Rivals, Scout and 247Sports and is expected to be the floor general for the Wildcats this season.
