Senior linebacker Courtney Love has been named to the Wuerffel Trophy preseason watch list. The award goes to college football’s top community servant.

The Youngstown, Ohio native is very active in the Lexington community. He leads the team in community service hours and has a passion for mentoring children who are living in a one-parent household or have parents who are incarcerated. Other service projects Love has been involved with include: a Skype mentoring program with local high school students, various events with the UK Children’s Hospital, Read Across America and Special Olympics.

Love was a member of the 2016 SEC Community Service Team. He was recently nominated for the 2017 Lott Trophy and the Allstate ACFA Good Works Team. Both awards honor college football players who go above and beyond in the realm of community service.

The recipient of the Wuerffel Trophy will be announced at the National Football Foundation’s press conference in New York City on December 5.
