COUNTY CONNECTION | Anderson County's Mackenzie Cann Shines At Kentucky

Mackenzie Cann, a 6’1” senior guard from Lawrenceburg, Kentucky is shining in her final season as a Kentucky Wildcat.

The Anderson County product was a five-year varsity starter for the Bearcats- going 129-31 during her high school career. She was an all-state player and a Miss Kentucky Basketball finalist. She was also named a Kentucky All-Star for two postseason games. She was the eighth-region player of the year both as a junior and senior, and ranks first in school history for assists (645), second in points (2,207), steals (468) and fourth in rebounds (748).

She went to Cincinnati to play her freshman year, before transferring to Kentucky. She sat out the 2015-16 season due to the NCAA transfer rules, and as a junior averaged 5.8 points per game and 3.5 rebounds. She finished with the second-most three-point shots for the Cats, with 45.

Now in her senior season, she is averaging 8.9 PPG and 5 rebounds. She sat down with KSTV to discuss everything from her season, to her hometown and even her furry friends.
