After signing a massive contract extension this summer, UK basketball head coach John Calipari became the second highest paid coach in collegiate basketball, behind only Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski.’s staff had a draft of the coaches they would pick to lead their programs to establish a pecking order of the nation’s elite. The draft had four rounds, with six coaches selected per round. The first round played out as follows:

1. John Calipari – Kentucky
2. Rick Pitino – Louisville
3. Bill Self – Kansas
4. Sean Miller – Arizona
5. Mike Krzyzewski – Duke
6. Billy Donovan – Florida

Overall, there were not a ton of complaints from KSTV regarding the first round and the rest of the draft, but there were a few issues for Mark Krebs and Bradley McKee.
