The UK football team is steadily progressing through spring practices. One Wildcat who feels the need to prove his worth this off-season is running back Josh Clemons.
After a quick start to his freshman season, the 5’10 junior suffered a season ending injury against South Carolina. That injury resulted in him missing the remainder of 2011 and the entire 2012 season. Then heading into the spring of 2013, Clemons injured an achilles during and missed that entire campaign.
Now, Clemons is healthy and looks to play a major role.
With Javess Blue sidelined until the fall due to shoulder surgery, the coaches are looking for vast improvements from the rest of the wide receivers. So far in the spring practices, they like what they see but say a lot of work still needs to be done.
One receiver in particular who is being counted on to step up is Ryan Timmons. The sophomore was the team’s second leading receiver last season with 32 receptions for 338 yards and two touchdowns.
