Cats trounce Tigers, advance to SEC Championship

Willie Cauley-Stein tallied 18 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, and several monster slams to lead No. 1 Kentucky to an easy 91-67 victory over Auburn on Saturday to advance to the Southeastern Conference Championship game in Nashville, Tennessee.

Kentucky (33-0) jumped out to a 26-10 lead only 10 minutes into the first half and never looked back. The Wildcats had five players score in double figures while shooting 56% from the field (27-48) and 50% from three (7-14) for the game.

No. 13 seed Auburn (15-19) won three games in three days, including a dramatic 73-70 OT upset of No. 4 seed LSU on Friday night, to reach the semifinals but struggled to find the mark against the Wildcats’ vaunted defense, shooting just 33% for the game.

Kentucky advances to Sunday’s championship game at 1:00 p.m. ET and will play the winner of the second semifinal between Georgia and Arkansas.
