Top overall seed Kentucky basketball still needs to wait two more days before playing its first NCAA tournament game on Thursday night, but in the meantime, the Cats keep raking in national awards.

The Associated Press copied the coaches of the Southeastern Conference and named John Calipari the SEC Coach of the Year and Karl Anthony-Towns Freshman of the Year.

Towns also joins teammate Willie-Cauley Stein on the AP’s eight-man All-SEC team along with being named a Freshman All-American by the United States Basketball Writers Association.

The USBWA also honored Cauley-Stein with a First Team All-American nod.

With a team as deep and talented as Kentucky’s, every player is good enough to garner national recognition, but who will need to be the team’s tournament MVP if the Cats are to cut down the nets in Indianapolis?
