Cats Blown Out By Vandy, 38-8

Kentucky traveled to Nashville with renewed hopes of sneaking into a bowl game and a reborn confidence after showing much improvement in their last three games. But after getting smacked by Vanderbilt Saturday and giving the Commodores their largest margin of victory in an SEC game since 1955, frustration has returned.

The Cats couldn’t keep their offense on the field and couldn’t keep the Commodores out of the endzone. UK was outgained on the ground 203 yards to 32 yards, leading to a nearly 18-minute disparity in time of possession. Kentucky’s lone touchdown came on a 22-yard touchdown pass to Nick Melillo with 1:21 left in the third quarter and the Cats trailing 31-0.
