Cards Get Back To .500, Beat Syracuse 27-10

For the second straight week, Charlie Strong’s Louisville football team had a chance to make a statement against a Big East team and the for the second straight week, Cards did just that, shutting down the Syracuse Orangemen (5-3, 1-2) at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.
The Cards were aided by an aggressive and opportunistic defense that recorded four sacks and a balanced offensive attack behind freshman Teddy Bridgewater. Bridgewater connected on 17 of 24 passes for 198 yards – 96 of them to fellow freshman Michaelee Harris – and two touchdowns. through the air, while senior Victor Anderson also added 93 yards on only 11 carries, including a 61-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Louisville finished with 343 total yards of offense.
The Cards will now prepare to head to Morgantown, West Virginia, where they’ll square off with #25 West Virginia.
