Calipari was the first to hit the podium at the annual Tipoff Luncheon in Louisville because he said he needed to “skedaddle” back to Lexington to meet with a few visiting recruits — recruits who must be as excited about this upcoming season as UK fans are.

In his 20 minutes speech to the packed Galt House ballroom, Calipari talked about how his “Players First” philosophy is spreading around campus, how he plans on implementing a platoon system to start the season, and why fans should be excited for this upcoming season.

Below is Coach Cal’s full speech to the Big Blue diehards in attendance. Watching it will make you feel as if you were there.
