PHOENIX — He was only in Lexington for one season, but that’s all the time Devin Booker needed to make his mark as one of the deadliest three-point shooters in UK history.
But at his workout with the Phoenix Suns on Monday, the projected lottery pick showed he’s much more than just a perimeter player, impressing team management with his all-around game.
General manager Ryan McDonough said after the session that Booker surprised him with both his strength and athleticism, adding that he sees the former Wildcat as one of the most versatile players in the entire draft.
Booker also put his athleticism on display at the NBA Combine last month, posting the fastest lane agility score of any player in attendance.
Phoenix currently holds the second-to-last pick in the lottery with selection No. 13, right were Booker is expected to be drafted. Draftexpress.com currently has him going one spot earlier to the Utah Jazz at No. 12.
KSTV discussed Booker’s all-around arsenal on Tuesday’s show, explaining why he be a perfect addition to Phoenix’s run-and-gun offense.
