Blue-White Scrimmage: Blue team beats the White team 110-94

In a high scoring (and flying) affair, the Blue team beat the White team 110-94 in front of over 16,000 fans at the annual Blue-White scrimmage.
Sophomore guard Isaiah Briscoe demonstrated why he is the leader of this year’s team. Briscoe led the way with 39 points and 10 assists, showing his ability get past bigger defenders and create plays for his teammates.
His backcourt mates, De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk displayed their athleticism and quickness throughout the game. Fox had 31 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, while Monk finished with 26 points, five rebounds and four assists, including this huge slam dunk.
The three guards combined for 96 points.
Sacha Killeya-Jones showed off his versatility tonight, stepping out and hitting some mid-range jumpers, while also battling inside for some tough, contested buckets. Killeya-Jones finished the game with 15 points on 7-12 shooting and three rebounds.
Derek Willis was dominant on the boards, leading the way with 13. De’Aaron Fox and Bam Adebayo both finished with 12 rebounds a piece.
Seniors Dominique Hawkins and Mychal Mulder showed why they deserve to see playing time this season. Hawkins scored 22 points on 7-9 shooting, including 2-3 from the three point line.. Mulder found his stroke early, nailing 4-5 three pointers and finishing the game with 18 points.
Both teams combined shot 11-30 (36%) from the three point line.
The Wildcats will spend most of this next week focusing on defense and lineup combinations before welcoming Clarion to Rupp Arena next Sunday for an exhibition. Tipoff is set for 7 pm.
