After three years in Lexington, former two-way star A.J. Reed is off to the big leagues. He was selected by the Houston Astros with the 42nd pick in the Major League Baseball draft, Thursday night. For Reed, the wait was longer than expected, but nonetheless it was a dream come true.
Even though Reed was both a standout pitcher and hitter for the Cats, it’s expected that he’ll be stepping away from the mound and devoting his talents to the batter’s box.
KSTV caught up with the slugger to talk about draft night, his time at Kentucky, the hopes for his professional career and much more.
