The Kentucky football team accepted a bid to play in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl on Sunday. The Wildcats (7-5) will face Northwestern (9-3) in Jacksonville on Dec. 29 at 4:30 p.m. ET. It will be the Cats’ second-straight year in a bowl game, after playing in last year’s TaxSlayer Bowl. “We’re very excited to have earned another bowl bid and honored to receive an invitation from the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl,” said UK head coach Mark Stoops... Read more 

UK football adding new assistant coach

A job posting went up Wednesday morning on the University of Kentucky’s human resources website, which says the school is looking to hire a football assistant. The new position will not replace anyone currently on staff, but will instead be an additional on-field coach for Mark Stoops. Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson made amends for a four-turnover game against the University of Kentucky last year, leading the Cardinals to a 44-17 thrashing of the Wildcats Saturday at Kroger Field. Jackson finished the game with 156 yards rushing and 216 yards passing, completing 15 of 21 passes and tossing a pair of touchdowns.
