It’s been a busy week at with the staff updating the high school football prospect ratings. There was a lot of UK-related movement with some commits taking taking a hit, while others saw increases in their stock. recruiting analyst Justin Rowland joined KSTV to discuss five-star target Damien Harris, tight end commit C.J. Kyle Tucker puts a bow on the Big Blue Bahamas tour

During the six-game stretch of the Big Blue Bahamas tour, the UK basketball team went an impressive 5-1 against professional competition. Using a platoon system, the Cats were able to give each of the players a pretty even workload and leave every guy an opportunity to showcase his talents. Mark Stoops sheds some light on the UK quarterback battle

UK moves to 3-0 in the Bahamas, routs Puerto Rico 93-57

The Cats continue to impress on the Big Blue Bahamas Tour. After defeating Puerto Rico 93-57 under the tutelage of assistant coach John Robic today, the team moved to 3 and 0 on the week. It was the second meeting between the teams. Monday, the Cats won by twenty-five. Alex Poythress led UK with 15 points and 10 boards. Marcus Lee added 14 points. Paradise treating the Cats well through two games

Before the UK basketball team left for the Big Blue Bahamas tour, head coach John Calipari said the team would be fortunate to win two games. It didn’t take the Cats long to reach that mark, as they are 2-0 thus far. UK reaping the benefits of a loaded roster

Five in, five out. That’s head coach John Calipari’s philosophy with the 2014-15 UK basketball team. The Cats have so much talent and depth on the roster that the coaching staff will literally be able to deploy players in five-man platoons. The starting line-up might play for 10 minutes, then a wave of five substitutes will take their place for an allotted amount of time. That’s at least Coach Cal’s plan for the time being.  Read more 

Bahamas trip to bolster the Cats

In just a few days, the UK basketball team will take the court in the Bahamas to begin a six-game stretch against teams loaded with pros. It’ll be a very tough test for the Cats, but there will be major benefits in the long run. Freshmen Karl Towns and Tyler Ulis will get their feet wet in UK uniforms, and the team as a whole will begin to bond well before the beginning of college basketball season.
