UK Football picks up commitment from Florida wide receiver

Josh Ali, a three-star wide receiver in the class of 2017, has committed to the University of Kentucky. Ali hails from Hollywood, Florida. Co-offensive coordinator Eddie Gran was the lead recruiter for Ali, and Ali chose Kentucky over Illinois, NC State and Louisville among others. Last season, Ali had 56 catches for 865 yards and 13 touchdowns. Former Wildcat Jason Hatcher headed to West Georgia

Following his dismissal from the UK football program in February, former UK linebacker Jason Hatcher will look to rebuild his image with the Division II West Georgia Wolves, according to Steve Jones of the Louisville Courier-Journal. Hatcher was dismissed from the Wildcats football program after being arrested on marijuana-related charges. UK Football: Jarren Williams commits to the Cats

Kentucky football looks to be getting some of their momentum back. After a rough few weeks on the recruiting trail, the Wildcats added a big addition to their 2018 class in quarterback Jarren Williams. Williams is a pro-style quarterback who hails from Lawrenceville, Georgia. He stands at 6’ 3”, weighs 205 pounds and chose UK over Florida State, West Virginia, Louisville, Maryland and Boston College. Former Cat Champ Kelly hosts weekend camp for sixth straight year

Former Kentucky football star Champ Kelly and current Chicago Bears assistant Champ Kelly will host his annual CHAMP Camp this weekend in Lexington. Kelly graduated from UK in 2001 and has held his annual camp in Kentucky since 2010. Kellly talked about his goals for the camp with KSTV and also how he feels about former UK linebacker Danny Trevathan joining the Bears this offseason.  Read more

Three-star 2017 athlete Russ Yeast has decommitted from UK. The son of former UK football player Craig Yeast tweeted out, “I would like to thank the whole BBN family of fans and coaches for the wonderful opportunity in this recruiting process. After much discussion with my family, I have decided I will back off my commitment to the University of Kentucky. Justin Rowland on SEC preseason standings and the leader of the 2017 class

ESPN The Magazine’s College Football preview was released earlier this week and it reveals ESPN’s projected standings for the SEC East. The Wildcats are projected to finish sixth in the East, ahead of only Vanderbilt. Vandy and Kentucky both finished with a 2-6 record in the SEC last year. The Commodores beat UK late in the season, hurting the Cats’ bowl chances. ESPN projects Tennessee to win the East, facing LSU in the SEC Championship game. Former UK player being honored at 2016 KY Pro Football Hall of Fame Induction

The Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame will have their induction ceremony next week. The honorees include Council Rudolph, Myron Guyton, Warren Bryant, Ray Buchanan and former UK coach Blanton Collier. Former Wildcat offensive lineman Dermontti Dawson will be honored at the ceremony. Dawson was inducted into the KY Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2003 as a part of the inaugural class. Mark Stoops on Satellite Camps

Satellite camps have become a very divisive topic in college football. Last week, Mark Stoops spoke out against the recruiting camps, saying, “We have very strong opinions about that after participating in one.
