Snell, Stenberg named to All-SEC Freshman Team

Freshmen running back Benny Snell and offensive lineman Logan Stenberg have been named to the All-SEC Freshman Team. Snell, who didn’t play a snap in the first two games, had a historic season for Kentucky. The Ohio native rushed for a freshman school-record 1057 yards (eighth in the SEC) and 13 TDs. Three Wildcats receive All-SEC Honors

The Associated Press released their All-SEC honors today and three Wildcats made the list. Senior center Jon Toth was named to the first team, while safety Mike Edwards and linebacker Jordan Jones were named to the second team. Toth and Jones were both named to the Coaches’ All-SEC Second Team on Tuesday. The All-SEC teams were released yesterday with center Jon Toth and linebacker Jordan Jones both making the second team. They were the only Wildcats on the list, but should there have been more? Jon Toth, Jordan Jones named to the Coaches' All-SEC Second Team

Senior center Jon Toth and sophomore linebacker Jordan Jones have been named to the Coaches’ All-SEC Second Team. Both Toth and Jones were strong contributors this season. Toth anchored an offensive line that allowed Kentucky to average 241.3 rushing yards per game, good enough for 16th in the nation. The senior from Indianapolis played in 48 career games, starting a nation-high 47 of them. Toth will participate in the 2017 Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, AL on January 28th. Jones... Read more

2017 DE Chris Whittaker commits to Kentucky

2017 defensive end Chris Whittaker has committed to Kentucky, according to 247 Sports’ Ryan Bartow. Whittaker, a Florida native, was originally committed to Central Florida but decided to flip his commitment to Kentucky after his visit in Lexington this weekend. He becomes the 15th commitment in the 2017 class and is the second defensive end in the class. Whittaker is unranked on rivals.com, but is tabbed a three-star recruit.
