45-unanswered points leads to UK's best start since 2007

Kentucky may have started Saturday’s noon game a little slow, but they finished by scoring the game’s final 45 points to rout Louisiana Monroe 48-14 — moving the Cats to 5 and 1 on the season for the first time since 2007.

Patrick Towles threw for 216 yards and three touchdowns — two of those found Javess Blue, who finished with 109 yards on three catches.

The defense recorded six sacks and forced three turnovers — including two touchdowns on a pair of pick-sixes by linebacker Josh Forrest and safety Marcus McWilson.

After the game, the team was happy with the way they bounced back after such a slow start.
