Did you know that 149 Kentucky basketball players have served in the US military? Carlos Toomer, a member of the Kentucky basketball team from 1990-1992, is the most recent player to serve. Of those 149 players, six died while in the line of duty. We are still a long way away from the start of college basketball, but we finally know what Kentucky’s full roster will look like next season. Most “way too early” rankings have Duke and Kentucky ranked as the top two teams. Yesterday, Demarcus Cousins was named All-NBA second team for the second straight year. Cousins is the fourth UK player to earn multiple All-NBA honors in a career, the last being Cliff Hagan in 1958-1959. Despite being the fourth leading scorer in the league (26.9 PPG) and averaging over 10 rebounds (10.3 RPG), Clippers center DeAndre Jordan was named All-NBA first team.
