The best high school basketball players in the 2017 class are gathered in Chicago for the McDonald’s All-American game. The game is on Wednesday at 7 pm ET at the United Center and will feature four Kentucky signees. Nick Richards, Quade Green, Jarred Vanderbilt and PJ Washington are all playing and are all on the East team. The players practiced this afternoon for the first time. The 2016-2017 basketball season came to an end last night for John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats. UNC’s Luke Maye broke the hearts of Kentucky fans when he hit the game-winning shot to give the Tar Heels a 75-73 win to advance to the Final Four. Kentucky’s season came to a heartbreaking end tonight, as North Carolina hit a buzzer beater with .3 seconds left to win 75-73. Down 73-70 with 10 seconds left in the game left, Malik Monk hit a contested three-pointer to tie the game with hopes of sending it into overtime. North Carolina quickly inbounded the ball and Theo Pinson found Luke Maye for the game-winning bucket. De’Aaron Fox scored 39 points as Kentucky beat UCLA 86-75 to advance to the Elite Eight. This is the Wildcat’s third trip to the Elite Eight in the last four seasons. Fox hit a jumper right before the end of the first half to give Kentucky a 36-33 lead at the break.
