WKU ready for a steep challenge against Bowling Green

Many teams open the college football season against “cupcake” opponents. The first game is designed to ease players and coaches into the action rather than have a heavyweight battle right off the bat.

For Western Kentucky, that isn’t the case. The Hilltoppers will host Bowling Green to kickoff the 2014 season. Just one year ago, the Falcons went 10-4 in route to winning the MAC Championship by knocking off potential BCS-buster Northern Illinois.

Bowling Green was very good in 2013, and the expectations are high for the program once again. Regardless, WKU head coach Jeff Brohm and his players are up for the challenge and believe they have what it takes to begin the season pulling an upset.
