Western Kentucky is back in a bowl game, and the Hlltoppers will be playing in an exotic tropical location. WKU will be meeting Central Michigan in the Popeyes Bahamas Bowl on Christmas Eve. The noon kickoff will be held in Nassau at Robinson National Stadium. This will be the second time WKU and CMU have met in the postseason. The two schools played in the 2012 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, a game the Hilltoppers lost 24-21.
Both teams are 7-5. Western comes in on a four game winning streak. It includes a 67-66 overtime victory over then unbeaten Marshall in the Hilltoppers final regular season game. Western is led by senior quarterback Brandon Doughty who has thrown for 4,344 yards and 44 touchdown passes.
Central Michigan will be the second team out of the MAC to play the Hilltoppers. Back in August, WKU opened the season by outscoring Bowling Green 59-31.
