Central Michigan’s Christmas Miracle fell just short. Western Kentucky escaped the Bahamas Bowl with a 49-48 victory. The Hilltoppers led by 35 points with 12 minutes to go before the Chippewas started their amazing comeback. Still Central Michigan was down by 7 with 1 second to go and 75 yards away when CMU quarterback Cooper Rush heaved it. The ball was caught, lateraled several times and made it’s way into the endzone for the touchdown. Central Michigan went for the two point conversion and the win, but the pass in the endzone fell incomplete.
With the victory, Western Kentucky finishes the season 8-5 on a 5 game losing streak. Central Michigan winds up 7-6.
