WKU FOOTBALL | Tops had Rice for dinner

09/02/2016 06:27 PM

After stumbling a bit in the pregame, the Tops didn’t fall to C-USA foe, Rice. They went out, and got themselves a 46-14 win.

It seemed like ages separated Brandon Doughty’s last game and his replacement being named, but head coach Jeff Brohm reminded us all that he knows a thing or two about quarterbacks when he named RS Junior Mike White the starter. White is a transfer from USF and sat the 2015 season out.

In his debut as a Hilltopper, White threw for 517 yards, a career high. He went 25/31 and threw 3 touchdowns- tying another career high. That made for the third 500-yard passing performance in WKU history, and 10th most passing yards in a game in the C-USA;_ not too shabby.

Now the Tops turn their attention to big, bad, Bama. The first of two SEC opponents WKU will face this season, they head to Tuscaloosa on September 10th to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide in what might be their toughest game on the schedule this season.
