WKU FOOTBALL | Hilltoppers announce Brian Brohm as new QB coach

The Brohms are quickly becoming the first family of Bowling Green. Western Kentucky University announced the latest hiring to Jeff Brohm’s coaching staff Monday afternoon, Jeff’s younger brother Brian will serve as the new Hilltopper quarterbacks coach.

Brian Brohm is most notably known in Kentucky for his three years as the University of Louisville’s starting quarterback. As a Cardinal, Brohm threw for over 10,000 yards and 71 touchdowns. He also earned MVP honors in the 2007 Orange Bowl. Brohm was a second round pick in the 2008 NFL draft and spent eight years at the professional level, splitting time between the NFL and the Canadian Football League.

Brian is the third Brohm to join the WKU coaching staff, and is the younger brother to head coach Jeff Brohm and Director of Football Operations Greg Brohm.

WKU also announced further coaching assignments for 2016. Bryan Ellis, who previously served as WKU’s running backs coach, will lead the receivers and offensive assistant Chris Barclay, a former NFL running back, will coach the running backs. Defensive assistant Reggie Johnson will direct the defensive ends this season.

Jeff Brohm has lead the Hilltoppers to two straight winning seasons, two bowl game victories, and most recently a Conference USA title.
