WKU Football: Can the defense get stingier?

Western Kentucky finished off a pretty good 8-5 season with a win in the Bahamas Bowl over Central Michigan. Now the task for the Hilltoppers is to try and improve the defense. The offense figures to be solid, what with Brand Doughty returning. All Doughty did was throw for almost 5-thousand yards last season, as Western averaged almost 45 points per game. However defensively, the Toppers blew several leads during the season and gave up 40 points per contest.

Hilltoppers beat reporter Chad Bishop tells cn|2 that WKU coaches know they need to tighten things up when “the other guys” have the ball.
