Will Gardner is transferring from UofL

Quarterback Will Gardner is apparently leaving UofL, according to a post on his mother’s Facebook page.

Gardner spent much of the 2014 season as the starter, leading the Cards to an opening night win against Miami. However, he also was hurt several times that season, and by the end it was Reggie Bonnafon starting.

Of course Kyle Bolin and Lamar Jackson split playing time this season, with Bonnafon seeing most of his action at Running Back and Receiver. Gardner did not take a snap all season.

Gardner is in line to get his degree later this month. That means he will have one more year of eligibility, and will probably be able to play immediately without having to sit out a year, regardless of whether he transfers to another FBS school, or a team in a lower division..
