Wildcats' bid for ninth national title comes up short

The Kentucky Wildcats’ bid for a ninth NCAA championship came up short. Despite James Young’s 20 points, Connecticut’s Shabazz Napier finished with a game high 22 points, as the Huskies defeated the Wildcats 60-54. Kentucky never led in the game. UConn is now 4-0 all time in national title games. The difference very well could have been at the free throw line. Connecticut made all 10 of their foul shots while UK hit just 13 of 24 from the charity stripe. Kentucky finishes the season 29-11, and number two in the country to the 32-8 top ranked Huskies. Connecticut has a rare chance to sweep both championships. On Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. ET, the undefeated UConn women play unbeaten Notre Dame for the NCAA women’s title.
