Why University of Louisville Coach Bobby Petrino is in no hurry to name a starting quarterback
08/25/2015 06:30 AM
Back during spring drills, Cardinals Head Coach Bobby Petrino originally said he wanted to name a starting quarterback no later than two weeks before the opener against Auburn.
Well that game is a week from Saturday, September 5th, and Petrino still has not publicly named a starting quarterback. However that doesn’t mean he does not have one in mind. It just means Petrino might not want to tip his hand to Auburn, instead forcing the 6th ranked Tigers to prepare for four possible quarterbacks in Junior Will Gardner, Sophomore Reggie Bonnafon, Sophomore Kyle Bolin or Freshman Lamar Jackson.
Then again the competition may indeed still be too close to call.
