Why Jawon Pass would want to visit Alabama

UofL committ Jawon Pass is going to visit the University of Alabama later this week.
The quarterback has been a Card commit since last summer. His older brother Khane is already a safety for Bobby Petrino and company. Jawon is the third ranked dual threat quarterback in the country, according to 247sports.com.
So why would Pass want to take a trip to Bama? is this something Louisville fans should be nervous about?
Well first of all you have to understand Pass comes from Columbus Georgia. I used to work there and Alabama is one of the schools folks in the Chattahoochee Valley follow religiously. The Tide is covered there the way, the Cards, cats and Hilltoppers are here. Bama’s also won 4 national titles the past 7 years so who wouldn’t want to see what the Tide is all about if they invite you over for a visit.
But there is something more for Cards fans to consider. UofL has a young quarterback in Lamar Jackson who really looks to be coming into his own. He threw for 227 yards and ran for 226 in the Music City Bowl win against Texas A&M, accounting for 4 touchdowns total. He was MVP of the game, and he is just starting his sophomore season. Jackson appeared to have total command of Louisville’s offense in that game. While that makes UofL fans excited, it probably is not what elite high school quarterbacks want to hear. It’s one thing if you are coming in to play under a senior stud like outgoing WKU quarterback Brandon Doughty. It’s another if the player in front of you is barely a year older.
and that’s something UofL fans will have to deal with, as do fans of all teams with good young talent. Course playing for Bobby Petrino, and playing with your brother is something Alabama cannot compete against, so it’ll be interesting to see if Pass is just taking a pleasure trip to a nice looking southern campus, or if there is real interest from the Tide. If that is the case, remember UofL fans…..Kyle Bolin is still a very capable back-up, and Jackson will have opposing teams sweating all season. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
