Slowly but surely, the field of high school football teams battling for state championships has been whittled down. Entering the final weekend, only 12 teams remain. But of those who have reached the final game, only six will be crowned champions.

The schedule for this weekend’s games are as follows:

  • Class A — Mayfield (13-1) vs Williamsburg (14-0)
  • Class 2A — DeSales (13-1) vs Newport Central Catholic (8-5)
  • Class 3A — Central (10-4) vs Belfry (12-2)
  • Class 4A — Owensboro (12-2) vs Highlands (12-2)
  • Class 5A — Graves County (11-3) vs Pulaski County (12-2)
  • Class 6A — Trinty (9-5) vs Dixie Heights (13-1)

Jason Frakes, the high school reporter for the Courier-Journal, joined cn|2 Sports to preview the championship game in each of the six classes.
