UofL WOMEN'S GOLF | Coaching for a Cause

08/17/2016 05:39 PM

Tuesday through Thursday you’ll be able to find the UofL women’s golf coaches out at the UofL golf club, coaching up a storm- without their student-athletes.

16 injured veterans from across the country have been brought to UofL through Team Semper Fi and Team America’s Fund to receive instruction from the Cardinals’ staff.

The Semper Fi Fund provides resources and support for wounded, ill or injured service members and their families.

Through sports, it promotes healing for many of the veterans as part of the “Recovery Through Sport” program. The coaches are teaching them everything from short game, to sand game, full swing and even golfing etiquette.

For the coaches, as well as the veterans, it was a rewarding and unique experience all around.
